Seth Breedlove Heads to the Pacific Northwest in New Sasquatch Documentary

Documentarian Seth Breedlove, known for his series of films under Small Town Monsters, has dedicated a good chunk of his professional gaze towards arguably the most notorious cryptid of them all, Sasquatch. In his new film, On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Discovery, he visits members of the Olympic Project in Washington state who investigate and collect data on the habitat that Sasquatch could possibly be occupying.

Throughout the documentary there will be something for everyone no matter their school of thought on this particular monster. Whether or not you think Bigfoot or Sasquatch may or may not really exist, Breedlove captures evidence put forth by the Olympic Project that shows the existence of some kind of unknown simian wildlife living in the densely forested areas of the Olympic peninsula.

At certain points in talking with the individual members of the Olympic Project Breedlove doesn’t quite get the details he’s seeking from them. Granted, the organization is one made up of amateurs who are simply devoting their free time for this venture, however the brunt of those he talks to are more in it to walk around the wilderness in the hopes of eventually seeing something or making contact. It also can’t be ignored that a number of these researchers spend a good amount of their time hunting game, which on its own does provide some crossover with tracking, reading treelines and so on, but for a lot of people would end at carrying weapons intended to harm or kill the subject they’re researching. It also should be noted that one of the prominent figures in this documentary is openly wearing a Trump 2020 hat and without resorting to what others would label partisan bias, a certain number of people who align with that campaign have had some trouble lately with accepting publicly available data that has remained consistent since the US general election in 2019. Alas, I digress.

Breedlove does manage to get a foothold here of something close to tangible in the long arduous argument for the existence of a cryptid such as Sasquatch, as evidence of rough craftsmanship can be seen here and could not have been replicated by the members of the Olympic Project. As with many finds in this field of study definitive details are few and far between, as Breedlove is well aware in this documentary, so his investigation into the Olympic Project is welcome as well as his anectodal documentation of the members’ personal accounts of sightings. If you’re at all sceptical about the true possibility of all this then this film will convince you that something is living and surviving out there without us knowing what that is.

More details for the film can be found below in the original press release:

Wadsworth, OH — A Sasquatch research group operating out of the Olympic Peninsula area of Northern Washington believe they have finally uncovered definitive evidence. The Olympic Project were informed of a unique find by a land surveyor in 2016 in an extremely remote part of the peninsula. The find is documented in a new feature from documentarian Seth Breedlove titled On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Discovery. On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Discovery will be available to purchase or rent on November 2nd on a number of platforms from 1091 Pictures, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and FandangoNOW.
The discovery alluded to was a series of structures that seemingly defy zoological logic. Members of the Olympic Project believe the structures to be a “nest site” for Bigfoot with massive beds made of woven sticks and underbrush that would require the use of opposable thumbs to construct.
Biologists, members of the forest service and other Bigfoot researchers believe this to be the best evidence ever found for an unknown animal in North America. On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Discovery takes viewers through the process of locating and examining the nest site, as well as relating experiences had by members of the group in the Olympic Peninsula. Breedlove, when asked about the unique finding featured in the documentary related “in 70 plus years of documentaries focusing on this subject, this might be the most fascinating find ever unveiled for an audience.”
On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Discovery is directed, edited, written and narrated by Seth Breedlove and features interviews with and evidence collected by members of the Olympic Project.
